Sockless days and ocean toes

Today started off in the pool again. Leo is getting really confident in the water now - it's lovely to see him so excited.

We drove inland to Waikoloa Village for some groceries and coffee. Leo continues to enjoy his sockless life.
In the afternoon we loaded up the Jeep for another trip to Hapuna Beach.
Leo is getting ready to crawl pretty soon!
Leo is finally enjoying getting his toes wet in the ocean - as long as Daddy
is by his side.

It's a serious business, this family holiday, says Leo.

Another watery day

Leo enjoys his morning dip. It was his first time hanging out on Daddy's shoulders (it feels safer in a pool). We also got an shot of him swimming underwater on the waterproof camera from Auntie Niki (to be developed old-style when we get home)

And back to our favourite beach,

but this time with the addition of Leo's bouncer, which made for a much easier time for all.

It wasn't just Ben who took to the waves today. Yes, that is Sarah coming towards Leo and Ben, faster than a speeding bullet.

Ain't she just the prettiest?

Whatever floats your boat

This morning we went on an amazing 4-hour boat trip where we got to swim with dozens of wild dolphins off the coast. Or rather, we snorkeled along and they swam around, underneath and alongside us. It was a wonderful experience and lovely to be out on the water.

In the afternoon we went for a walk around the resort, which included the lagoon at the Hilton where we saw this magnificent sea turtle.

Then we stopped for a refreshing drink. Leo is not too shy to stretch out in whichever way he finds comfortable.

Finally, a dip back at the condo pool. Leo is just getting more and more relaxed in the water, which is lovely to see.

Taking it easy

We spent some time around the condo this morning, and finally checked out the pool.

Leo hasn't been swimming for about a month so he took a little warming up, but definitely got to liking it after a while

Down to the beach for some wrestling with Daddy and more hat-modelling with Mummy

And finally just a couple of him looking adorable

Orange you having a good time Leo!

A new beach for Leo to discover today! He chose an outfit this morning to match his Daddy.

We had lunch on the lanai outside our condo and Leo was pretty excited about his spread of food.

This afternoon we went to watch Daddy swim with dolphins!

Daddy Cool

Back to the beach, this time with some waves for boogie boarding.

Our condo is well-stocked with beach stuff, including a chair that you can strap to your back, which Sarah thought looked hilarious, especially in combination with the over-the-shoulder handbag/nappybag and new sleeveless top.

The chair even has its own coolbag - "the coolest spot in paradise"

Leo is still not convinced by the motion of the ocean

But he managed to have some fun on the beach

Beach baby

The first full day saw us down at the beach. Leo wasn't so keen on sitting in the water with Daddy and instead clung to Mummy for a while, taking in things at his own pace.

The surf patroller perked up once he got on the sun lounger

Then he reverted to one of his favourite games - that of hat stylist

Beach boys

Today was our only full day in Manzanita, Oregon. Leo enjoyed his morning apple at the window seat of our beach house watching the Pacific waves.

We all went for a beach walk and took a rest on the fish bench.
Leo stole some of Daddy's chicken for his lunch.
In the afternoon we drove up the coast to Short Sands beach.

Grinning at Daddy

We went back to our beach house for a rest, then Daddy wanted to go and play in the water.

Our house is the middle one.
